As you can probably tell from the title, this isn’t going to be the typical Lian Li review where I compare the product at hand to others in its category and give my impressions of what it’s like to use it and how it stacks up against its peers. That’s because when it comes to Lian Li, pretty much every product they make is exceptional in some way or another.
Lian Li is one of the most highly respected names in PC case building, and they’ve just released the most elegant PC case I’ve ever seen — the Lancool III RGB. It’s available in two different models, with one being full-sized, and another being microATX only. Both have some amazing features, with my favorite being the patented handle at the top of the case that makes it easier to carry around without sacrificing cooling capabilities.
In the computer-building world, there are few names as revered as Lian Li. Since its humble beginnings in 1980, the company has earned a reputation for creating incredibly elegant, high-quality cases to match even the most refined builds. And with their newest addition, the Lian Li Lancool III RGB ($199), they’ve once again created something to marvel at. But while this case has incredible looks, what really makes it stand out are its features and its versatility.
Lian Li Lancool III RGB Review – The Details Matter
In the RGB world, there are two things that make or break your experience – the aesthetics and the control set. Lian Li has strived to be one of the top names in computer chassis aesthetics and today we’re looking at their entry into RGB with the Lancool series and specifically, the RGB model – the Lian Li Lancool III RGB. I’ve gotten my hands on this beauty and want to take you through its features, what it gets right, and what it doesn’t, as well as how it performs.
I’ve been using the Lian Li Lancool III RGB for about 6 months now, and I have to say, this thing has absolutely won me over. The design of the case itself is well-thought-out, with details that you might not notice at first glance but that adds up to an incredibly high-quality product. Let’s look at one of my favorite little features on the Lancool III – the SSD mount above the motherboard tray! The
RGB lighting is all the rage these days, but not every company offers it as an option and there aren’t many cases that come with RGB lighting out of the box. Lian Li changes this with their Lancool III, which gives you your choice of colors in the right places and offers the best RGB implementation we’ve seen yet! Here’s our review of the Lian Li Lancool III RGB case!
The Lian Li Lancool III is a mid-tower case with plenty of room for multiple graphics cards, and water cooling radiators, and includes a built-in fan hub to power them all. There are many features that make this case stand out from the rest, but what really makes it shine is its attention to detail. Every component has been carefully considered, and nothing feels like an afterthought.
Design and Features
The Lian Li Lancool III RGB case is a mid-sized ATX tower with tempered glass panels and a full complement of integrated RGB components. A total of six 120 mm fans are included, three up top and three on the back. The front panel has two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and HD audio jacks, while the front I/O panel has two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, and two audio jacks for mic/line-in. An acrylic window covers the majority of the motherboard tray, so you can see what’s going on inside without having to open it. There’s a large CPU cutout that leaves enough room to install even some of the largest air coolers around.
Packaging and Accessory Bundle
The Lian Li Lancool III is a beautiful case, with its sleek and elegant design, high-quality materials and finish, and great attention to detail. The bundle that comes with it is also incredibly comprehensive and well-thought-out. It includes everything one might need to build a high-performance PC except for the motherboard, processor, and graphics card.
The Lian Li Lancool III RGB is about as compact as a gaming tower can get. The case does not have any 5.25 drive bays and has three 3.5 slots at the front of the case for storage devices. It comes with two 120mm fans installed on a metal mesh above the power supply to cool down components, but these are more decorative than functional.
The Lian Li Lancool III RGB is one of the most expensive cases on the market, but it’s worth every penny. The quality of construction and design can’t be beaten, with features like 3 hard drive bays, a 2.5 SSD mounting system, and a dedicated cable routing compartment. It’s an excellent case for enthusiasts who want to show off the hardware inside their PC.
The Lian Li Lancool III RGB is an excellent case that checks all of the boxes. It’s well-designed, offers a large variety of features and cooling options, has ample room for expansion, and it looks really sleek to boot. This is a phenomenal case and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end enclosure. Its only major flaw is its hefty price tag which makes this more of an investment than a casual purchase. If you’re looking for something that will last you years to come and make your build look exceptional, then this might be just what you’re looking for!
